After three days of movies for local charities, Regal Gulf Coast Stadium opened on May 5, 2006 in Gulf Coast Town Center.
RLS Architects designed the theater with 3,586 seats. Before Regal’s version of an IMAX screen (many say it isn’t a true IMAX) was retrofitted in 2008, the largest auditorium featured 460 seats and a 58-foot screen. It was closed on September 28, 2022 due to damage from Hurricane Ian.
It had reopened by early-2023.

Grand opening ad in photo section.
Does anyone remember the name of the 6 screen Theatre that Eastern Federal Theatres opened in Ft. Myers in the early 1980’s? Is so, what was the name of it and address? Whatever happened to it?
That was the South Pointe 6 opening on February 25th, 1983, and closed on August 5th, 1999. CT Page to come.
It appears that the theater is not listing any showings according to FanDango. So it appears that the theater is now closed because of Hurricane Ian.
It should say “Open” Because they are showing movies again.
That’s what I thought too. Thanks for the update!
