The Star Theatre was first listed in 1932. Movies had previously been shown at the Boelus Opera House which was renamed the Star Theatre. The Star Theatre seated 200 and was no longer listed in 1939. When the opera houses of Nebraska were set up for the National Register of Historic Places the Boelus Opera House/Star Theatre had deteriated too much to make the listing.
