The Wardell Theatre opened in the mid-1920’s. It was owned by Mr. P.E. Bessert. The theatre seated 125 and presented traveling shows, vaudeville and silent movies. The Wardell Theatre closed in 1931. Wardell would go until 1941 before a new movie theatre would open.
