I don’t see a Clark Avenue on the maps of Sullivan, but there is a Clark Street.Meramec Theatre opened September 10, 1932.
Joe your right, the theatre was located on W. Clark St., The E. Main was for another theatre completely that I was working on.
Meramec theater, built and owned by my great-grandfather, A.B. Crowe, was located on North Clark Avenue, next to his large store, Crowe Mercantile. After his death, ownership of the theater transferred to his daughter, Minerva Crowe Hollander. His sons, George and Luther, co-owned and ran the store.
