The Breadalbane Hall was opened as a cinema around 1936. It was booked by A.B. King, and operated by Caledonian Associated Cinemas Ltd. Equipped with a British Acoustic(BA) sound system, it had a 34 feet wide proscenium, a 12 feet deep stage and two dressing rooms. The Breadalbane Hall was still open as a cinema in 1954, but had closed by 1963.
It was converted into the Dounreay Social Club, which closed in the summer of 2007.
