The Dixie Drive-In opened on September 14, 1950, featuring the 1950 Science-Fiction movie “Rocket Ship X-M” with Lloyd Bridges, Osa Massen, John Emery and Noah Beery, Jr. It was opened by Neal Robinson and Tom Barrow dba as Robinson-Barrow Theatres. They also operated the Fox Theatre and Eglin Theatre in Crestview, the Star Theatre in Fort Walton Beach and the Niceville Theatre in Niceville, FL.
It had a parking ramp could hold 400 cars. It closed in the mid-1980’s and it is now the Crestview Corners Shopping Center.

Boxoffice, Dec. 17, 1955: “Neal Robinson … has taken over the Dixie Drive-In, Crestview, Fla., from Tom Barrow to whom he was leasing the theatre.”
Both 1983 and 1985 aerial views show the theater appearing to be operational. It appears that it was demolished by the end of the decade.
