Located in the north of the city. The 800-seat Gloria-Palace was opened on 23rd December 1932. It was designed by an architect named Hennequet. The large central panel on the façade originally contained an Art Deco style bas-relief panel depicting a projector and a man’s face (now obliterated). It had seating in orchestra and balcony levels. In its final years it was re-named Astros and was still open as a cinema in 1985. It had closed by 1993.
In 2014 it is an oriental discotheque named Mawal.
