Cinema King

The Cinema King is situated in one of the most central streets in the Sicilian harbour town of Trapani, in its vicinity is the port. The Cinema King occupies the totality of one building, a phenomenon that has become rare for one-screen cinemas. The personnel are very friendly and dressed in suits and tie. A castle-like staircase leads you up to the first floor, where you can sit on the vast balcony. Mosaic pictures lend a very elegant atmosphere to the place. The screening room is capacious consisting of stalls and balcony thereby retaining an intimate atmosphere.

For me the cinema represents a well-preserved example of ‘old-style’ cinema theatres that emanate a long history. While certainly not running after the last trends, the cinema is well-groomed and certainly has much personality! A visit is strongly advised!
