Opened as the Dexter Theatre in 1940 and by 1944 it was renamed the Gem Theatre. The theatre seated 396 and was still listed as open in 1957. It is now an auto-repair shop.

The Gem Theater open in the late 1940’s when the main theater was being remolded (Weeks Theater). The theater closed about 1953 and was turned into a Western Auto store. The build still standing. The theater ran second run movies, double features on Friday night and westerns on Saturday.
