The Orpheum Theatre was open prior to 1911 when it was operating as a movie theatre. It seated 250. It was no longer listed in 1930.
The State Theatre was built on the site of the former Orpheum Theatre.

Max Shagrin, who over his local years at one point or another managed some of Youngstown’s larger theaters including the Orpheum would be taken to Hollywood by the Warner Brothers to manage a number of movie stars.
Operating as early as 1911 at 213 W. Federal sat 299. Pierre B. Atselas was manager and he and F. Wilson were proprietors at the time. Max Schagrin was associated by 1923.
