Located in Netherfield, near Carlton to the east of Nottingham. Built next to the railway line just off Victoria Street, the Victoria Picture Palace was opened on 25th July 1911, and was operated by Mr G. Hinton. It had a 17 feet wide proscenium.
In 1913 a circle was added, giving an extra 150 seats and the seating capacity was increased to 600. It re-opened and was re-named Alexandra Picture Palace, and this operated into the late-1920’s when it closed as a silent cinema. It was re-opened on 3rd November 1930 as the Cosy Cinema and had a sound system installed by Brian Wilkinson, but this was soon replaced by a British Thomson-Houston (BTH) sound system. It was operated by Joseph Wardle of the Bonnington Cinema in Arnold, Nottingham.
By 1947 it was part of the Nottingham based S. Graham Circuit. In its final years it was operated by Levin’s Cinema Circuit of Nottingham, and they closed the Cosy Cinema on 30th April 1955. It became a workshop operated by Wallis Barfield, a carpentry business. In early-January 2023 the building was gutted internally and prepared for conversion into flats.

600 seats, a balcony was added in 1913 with an extra 130 seats. Opened as Cosy Cinema Thursday 30th October 1930. Closed Saturday 30th April 1955.
Plans submitted August 2022 to convert building into apartments.
The cinema reopened as the COSY on Monday 3 November 1930.
