In a 2000 aerial, the pool has water and seems to be operational. By 2005 it was empty. By 2009, it had been filled in.
By 1994, the drive-in had been demolished save for the concession stand/projector booth. Which lasted until 2011, but was demolished and completely removed by the following year.
Today, only the outline of the drive-in remains with faint hints of parch marks indicating the presence of ramps.
Opened June 3rd, 1949, with the official opening on the 24th. Ad posted.
The Miller’s Grove Drive-In opened June 11, 1949 with a soft launch showing Ann Sothern and Jack Carson in “April Showers” and supported by a cartoon, newsreel and the short, “So You Want to Hold Your Wife” starring George O'Hanlon. The ozoner then went with its big splash in a full-fledged Grand Opening with Humphrey Bogart in “The Treasure of Sierra Madre” on June 24, 1949 where you could go for a swim and then enjoy a movie on the 56' x 56' screen.
Swimming pool is gone. It was still visible as a pool in the 2007 Historic Aerial, but it was filled in by the 2009 Historic Aerial.
You get on goggle maps and look. I think so.
Is the swimming pool still there?
