Located in Liskeard, Cornwall. The Carlton Cinema opened on 16th February 1934 with seating provided for 700. Initially it was equipped with a Parmeko sound system. The proscenium was 30 feet wide. It was operated by E.J. & W.E. Pope. In the early-1950’s it was equipped with a RCA sound system. CinemaScope came in around 1955 and the proscenium was widened to 40 feet.
W.E. Pope closed the Carlton Cinema in 1974. It was converted into a nightclub, known today as the Carlton Club & Jacks Entertainment Suite.
