Located in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. The brick shell was built by developers Arrowcroft to meet the growing population. The council fitted out the first floor cinema café and bar and leased it to Malcolm Croot and Richard Crisp. The council spent £72,000 on ventilation and decoration and the lessees £35,000 on seating, lighting and projection. A Spectrum 200 screen was provided. The cinema opened on 20th April, 1984 with Walt Disney’s “Jungle Book”.
Shops remain below but the arrival of Cineworld in 2000 forced the cinema to close on 28th March 2002. It became Oliver’s nightclub.

I almost became the first operator of this cinema but the council gave the lease to Richard as I had no experience of operating a cinema at that time.
As can be seen from my photographs, when I visited in January 2004 the cinema was due to re-open, as Cineplex, that March. I am unsure whether it did re-open and, if so, when it subsequently closed.
