Now screens old movies in 35mm and 70mm.

Reopened as The Revival House at the Como Theatre on 14th June 2024 with “Pretty Woman”.

The theatre is for sale. It’s still operating though!!

Classified by the National Trust on 2/5/1988, and State Heritaged listed on 30/6/1993.

I think the Picture gardens may been on the right hand side of the building!? The picture gardens projector room may still be there!?

The Cygnet cinema is now part of the Grand Cinema group.

Como Theatre(now Cygnet Theatre) opened on 3/3/1938 with “Tainted money”,and “Smartest girl in town”. There was also a outdoor picture gardens (which may have opened the same day?). The picture gardens closed in the early 70’s due to noise from the newly installed air con. The picture gardens site may still be there unused? The indoor theatre may be extending onto the picture gardens site.
