Located in Littleport, 8-miles north of Ely, Cambridgeshire. The Regal Cinema was opened in 1937. It was designed in an Art Deco style by a local (unnamed) architect. Seating was provided all on a single level. It was equipped with a British Talking Picture(BTP) sound system and had a 20 feet wide proscenium. It became part of the D.F. Bostock Cinema Circuit, based in Ipswich.
It was equipped with CinemaScope from 7th November 1956 and the screen was 28 feet wide, with the seating capacity reduced to 420. The Regal Cinema was closed in 1981, and it was converted into a bingo club.
In recent years this has closed and it became a community centre By 2012 it was Stepping Stones pre-school daycare centre. They moved out the building in 2013, and in late-2014 plans were proposed to demolish the building.
