The Great Escape Shelbyville 8 opened in November of 2003. It was operated by Aliance Entertainment/Great Escape Theatres. It was taken over by Regal Entertainment. By 2019 it was operated by Infinity Theaters. It had closed by May 2026.

What happened to my comments with the new name and who operated this theatre now and the correct street name?
The Shelbyville 8 was designed for Great Escape Theaters by the Louisville architectural firm Keyes Architects & Associates. There are a few photos on the firm’s web site.
No longer Regal — operated by Infinity Theatres it seems.
A recent news clip from local news station WHAS 11 shows the theater as closed, with many of the “great escape” letters missing from the marquee. https://tinyurl.com/yvsy89fr
The web site is still available, but Fandango says the house is “temporarily closed.”
