Located in the Stockbridge district of Edinburgh. The building was first used as a shooting range, workshop etc. It was converted into the St. Bernard’s Picture Palace in April 1911 by architect P.R. McLaren. Alterations were carried out to the plans of architect James McKissack in 1921 and it re-opened as the Savoy Cinema on 28th March 1921, operated by Scottish Cinemas & Variety Theatres chain, part of the Associated British Cinemas(ABC) chain. ABC closed the Savoy Cinema on 16th July 1960.
It was taken over by an independent operator and re-named Tudor Cinema, re-opening on 25th July 1960. By 1963 it had been taken over by the J.B. Milne Theatres circuit. It was closed in April 1966, and was converted into an All Square Bingo Club, still operated by J.B. Milne. Eventually that closed and the building became a printing works. The building was demolished in April 1982. A block of flats was built on the site.
