The Bay Terrace Theatre is run by the M.I.R.A. Theatre Guild, a performance/visual arts organization. The building was built in 1918 as the Bay Terrace School, and was designed in a Beaux-Arts/Classical Revival style. The school was closed in 1957.
M.I.R.A Theatre Guild obtained the property in 1963 and opened the theatre in 1968. Though the years it has showcased Independent films.
