The Hamlet Opera House was constructed in 1912, originally with a Greek Revival facade with corresponding interior. It was renovated in the early-1930’s in Art Deco style. Research is continuing to determine the architect and architectural firm. It originally seated approximately 500.

This structure is presently owned by the city of Hamlet. The city is presently involved with moving and restoring the Historic Hamlet Passenger Depot (http:www.hamletdepot.org). The architect in charge of that project has recently assumed the restoration of this historic theater.
