Located in the north Hamburg district of Winterhude. The Gondel Filmtheater was a conversion of a shipyard building which dated from 1906. Designed as multi-use cinema and live theatre, it opened in February 1952. Seating was provided for 330 in the orchestra and 84 in the balcony. It was renovated in 1958 to the plans of architect Joachim Gluer.
The Gondel Filmtheater was closed in February 1970. It has since been demolished.

Please correct the wrong dates: open February 1952 (not 1951), closed Februar 1970 (not 1966). The GONDEL is NOT build a as theatre – the building was an old shipyard for small boats in Winterhude since 1906. And the name of the (famous) cinema architect for the renovation 1958 is Joachim Glüer (I didn´t hear the Name “Ganzori” in this context). Thank you very much…
