Here is an item from the October 10, 1925 issue of Motion Picture News:
The Robin opened as a silent movie house in 1926. Originally called the Crystal, the 305 seat theater was built on the backside of Mueller’s Rexall Drug in 1926. The Crystal didn’t have a snack bar, but a doorway led from the lobby to the candy counter in the adjoining drug store. In 1931, the Crystal underwent a major remodeling and reopened as the Robin Theatre. Seven years later, the Robin was purchased by William and Sidney Volk’s Minnehaha Theatre Corporation. The Volks closed the Robin in the early 1950’s. The building became a laundry and dry cleaners for a couple years before it was demolished.
There is a photo of the Robin Theatre on this page of the Robbinsdale Historical Society’s weblog.
