In 1926, two years before Huntington’s Keith Albee Theater opened, carpenter S.V.Anderson and his oldest sons built a two story yellow brick building in the north side of Main St. along Tanyard Branch, and named it the Tivoli Theater. Later the building was leased to the Alpine Theater Circuit, then to Arthur Crissman. He named it the Criss Theater, identity it kept until the 1950’s.

As Marshall University Alumni (‘92, GO HERD!), I do not recall a theater at this location during my time there (1988-1992). NE corner was the Intramural Field, now tennis courts, SE corner was the Twin Towers West Residence Hall, SW corner was Holderby Residence Hall and NW corner was Hodges Residence Hall (I believe that building has been demolished as well).

At any rate, if the address is correct, this theater has been demolished since at least 1988 and most likely since 1970 since that’s the date of the oldest building currently at that intersection.
