The Star Theatre was open in 1930. Seating was listed at 320 and it was operated by Moore Theatres. The theatre closed in the early-1960’s.

I noticed that the Star theater is not marked on the street map of Clendenin. It was located on Main St. On the east side and just 4 doors back from the curve going in to Maywood ave. it was the larger, of the two theaters and used to have live entertainment from time to time. I saw Flat and Scruggs there a youngster. That part of main St. Was actually south, not north Main St. Like it is noted on your map. Thank you for having this web page. It is so nice to have something of historical value on the net.
