This first opened as the Westmount Cinemas as a 709-seat twin-screener in 1977 by Odeon Theatres Canada. Cineplex Odeon began operating the Westmount in July 1984, and expanded to six screens in the early-1990s.
I cannot find any other information about the original Westmount Cinemas, but it most likely closed around the same time the newer Westmount opened close-by on May 8, 2009.
VIP cinemas are great here, a solid theatre!
Shouldn’t this say 11 screens, not 10?
Ad for the reopening of the cinema from May 8th, 2009 can be found in the photo section. Two cinemas opened in the mall in the late 1970’s and expanded to six cinemas in the early 1990’s.
