The Baker Theatre was already operating in 1912. The Baker Theatre was purchased by Ted Francis in 1927. Around 1936 the theatre was renamed the Francis Theatre. This was the first of two Francis theatres owned by Ted Francis. This theatre closed in 1941 when the second Francis Theatre opened a few doors away from this one.
