Joy Drive-In

The Joy Drive-In opened on June 20, 1951 with John Derek in “Rouges of Sherwood Forest”. It was operated by McLendon Theatres from Union Springs, Alabama. It had a car capacity of 350 cars. In talking to some of the locals about the location I think I’m pretty close. It was in operation until the mid-1970’s from what I was told. McLendon Theatres also operated the Milton indoor theatre.
