Opened as the Nevada Theatre on December 10, 1924. It was renamed Empire Theatre on December 4, 1925. It became the State Theatre from June 30, 1928, until the end of 1929 and then closed. The Roxie Theatre opened on March 29, 1930 and showed movies until early June of 1933. After that their only advertised programs were appearances by an evangelist or a psychic.

According to the Nevada State Journal, the Roxie Theatre was sold to T&D Junior Theatres on September 9, 1933. T&D, who operated the Granada Theatre, Majestic Theatre and Wig Wam Theatre, said they didn’t know if the theatre would be remodeled into a T&D Theatre or leased to an independent operator.

On June 18, 1935, it was announced that T&D Theatres would remodel the old Roxie Theatre into The Flagg Furniture Co. The outcome of the renovation was one big store with the surrounding balcony still retained.
