Buffaloe Theatre was owned by my grandfather Willie Armster Buffaloe, Jr. He closed the theatre years before I was born. I have receipts of equipment he bought. And I have been told by local seniors that he showed current movies that were in larger cities like New York. This was important for African Americans in this small rural town in northeastern NC. They had somewhere to go with their families for entertainment. My grandfather died in January 1958.
