North Gem Theatre

The North Gem Theatre was in Bancroft at least by 1929 and was mapped by the Sanborn Insurance Company. On April 13, 1935, the Soda Springs Sun noted that the new Bancroft Theatre would be reopening under the management of Hyrum Call. It was newly furnished, decorated and remodeled with an up-to-date sound system. By 1938 it reverted to its previous name, the North Gem Theatre.

In April of 1958 the Caribou County Sun said that the Grace Theatre Corporation was running the North Gem Theatre under a Friday and Saturday schedule. The Film Daily Yearbook of 1945 lists the North Gem Theatre with 200 seats, but the theatre stayed in the local newspaper listings until the late-1970’s.
