The grand opening of the 2,400-seat, $18-million Cinetopia was on June 22, 2012. The Vancouver Columbian noted that the theater began showing movies on June 1 in some of the auditoriums. The theater is a joint venture by Rudyard Coltman and the owners of the mall, the Westfield Group.
There are nine auditoriums on the upper level and 14 on the lower level. Cinetopia says that they have “4 GXL Auditoriums with screens up to 80 feet, 5 Grand Auditoriums, 9 Living Room Theatres with screens up to 80 feet, and 5 Movie Parlors. Brewtopia provides food and beverage for the Living Room and Movie Parlor theaters. In May 2019 it was taken over by AMC.
