The building was constructed in 1907 and it opened as the Cortelyou Photoplay Theatre in early-1914. In 1926, alterations were made to the exterior and interior by architect Walter Griffith. It was closed in 1928, and was converted into retail units. In 2013 the address is in use as a dry cleaners.
