Malco opened the Mall Trio on June 3, 1970 as a first run Cinema. When the Cinema 16 opened the Mall Trio was relegated to a sub run discount house. The theatre featured, advance ticketing, online ticketing, rocking chair comfort, Dolby digital projection and sound and second run attractions. It was closed on March 16, 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and never reopened.

The Malco Mall Trio Theatre opened on June 3rd, 1970, a busy year in wich the Minitek Cinemas twin and AMC Phoenix Village Two also opened. Grand opening ad posted.
This was also the first ever theater in Arkansas to have automated projection.
