Everyone in town got a VHS tape of previews for the new cinema. Grand opening ad Galaxy Cinemas Station Mall opening 08 Jun 2000, Thu The Sault Star (Sault St. Marie, Ontario, Canada) Newspapers.com
The theatre opened on June 9, 2000. Its opening movies include Gone in 60 Seconds (on two screens), Mission Impossible 2 (on two screens), Dinosaur, Battlefield Earth, The Road to El Dorado, Small Time Crooks, Center Stage, Big Momma’s House, Shanghai Noon, and Road Trip.
Downsizing was done to accommodate the building of an H & M store. Regarded as win win since theater officials said they overbuilt in the first place.
This theatre should get some more clients. The theatre on the American side closed down.
