Street number was 18 by the look of the photograph.

As in the photo the cinema entrance seems to have been down a passage between the shops.

Can you confirm where this information came from? I ask as I believe it is incorrect. Tufnail opened a cinema, Newbury Cinema, near to the Railway Station in 1910. It then later move into The Plaza, which was in the Market Place. The Town Hall was never used as a cinema. The photo you have is of the Town Hall which is not in the Market Place and was, as far as I am aware, never used as a cinema. Summary, The Plaza was located in the Market Place, nothing to do with the Town Hall.
