Located in Gosport, Hampshire. Originally built as a Wesleyan Chapel, in 1910 it was taken over by the Gosport Bioscope Company Ltd. and opened as the 650-seat Electric Theatre. Films and variety acts formed the programme. By 1927 it had been renamed Gosport Theatre. It was closed in 1930, and architect Robert A. Briggs designed plans for a refurbishment.
It was re-opened on 19th January 1931 as a ‘talkie’ cinema, having been equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system.
The Gosport Theatre was closed in 1938.
