The Studio I & II Theatres were located at the Electric Company Mall on Hillsborough Street, across from North Carolina State University. This very small twin (more like two screening rooms), which opened on February 20, 1987, was located about one block west of the old Studio 1/Varsity Theatre (which closed in 1975).
In its last years the Studio I & II was owned by Ambassador Entertainment, owner of Raleigh’s Rialto Theatre and Colony Twin Theatre. The Studio I & II was closed in 2000 due to a lack of parking; Ambassador subsequently picked up the Mission Valley Theatres (abandoned by United Artists) as a replacement for the Studio I & II.

Varsity theater (AKA Studio 1) didn’t close until September of 1984. Studio I&II opened in 1987. It closed in October of 2000, one week before Ambassador Entertainment reopened Mission Valley.
For the life of me I cannot remember the seating capacities, but the total seats was either 100 or 110, and the left theater was a little smaller. I think it was 49/51.
This opened on February 20th, 1987. Ad posted.
