This wonderful little theater was constructed in 1975, opening as the Odeum Theatre on December 5, 1975 with Paul Newman in “The Towering Inferno”. It replaced the towns' Strand Theatre located on 1st Avenue which had burned down on February 1, 1975 (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
It is currently owned by Jerry and Cheryl Sheehy of Lisbon, Iowa. The Sheehy’s two kids help customers carry their concessions to their chairs and clean between shows.
