Gaumont Aberdeen

Located in the centre of Aberdeen, Grampian. The Picture House was opened on 14th April 1914 by Associated Provincial Picture Houses(APPH), a subsidiary of Provincial Cinematograph Theatres(PCT). The Picture House was taken over by Gaumont British Theatres(GB) in February 1929. Seating was provided in stalls and circle levels, with side slips in the circle extending toward the proscenium.

It was re-named Gaumont from 15th May 1950. It was closed by the Rank Organisation on 6th October 1973. The theatre was demolished, apart from the (rather plain) facade, which today acts as an entrance to shops which have been on the front of the site, and an office block has been built where the auditorium stood.
