The Motor-Vue Drive-In was opened on July 14, 1948 with Tyrone power in “Captain From Castile”. It was closed in 1971 and demolished in 1975 or 1976.

The Motorvue was bounded on one side by Bennet Ave, by Maplewood on the other side. Looking to the left in this view, you would be looking right into the middle of the theater.

Although there was a wooded buffer between Maplewood and the theater proper; it was this “buffer” that kids snuck through to gain free access to movies. :–)
My grandfather, Arnold Larson, built and owned the MotorVu. I enjoyed working and playing at the drives as a kid in the 60s.
This opened on July 14th, 1948. Grand opening ad posted.
