The Majestic Theatre was a substantial neighborhood house south of downtown Lima. It opened November 26, 1914. It was designed by one of the city’s leading architects of the period, J.A. Chapin, and was built for Miner C. Crossley, a businessman and developer. It was closed in 1929.
It was reopened on February 11, 1938. The Majestic Theatre operated successfully until closing in 1954. Despite attempts to rehabilitate the building for use as a community theater after it closed, the Majestic Theatre fell into disrepair and was demolished in 2005.
