Located in the Montmartre district of Paris, close-by the famed Gaumont Palace. The Cine Mexico was opened 15th February 1959. Seating was provided in orchestra and balcony levels, although it was quite a small cinema with 170 seats. In 1978 it was converted into a twin screen cinema, which catered for a gay male audience. It had a well known ‘backroom’.
The Mexico was closed on 15th March 1988. The building today is in use as Corcoran’s Irish Pub.
