Tower Theatre ( in 1951 - it becomes the Moore Theatre

A display advertisement in the 1947 Smoke Rings DHS yearbook list the Tower Theater. It was remodelled in 1951 and renamed Moore Theater. It was closed in 1956 and is now demolished. The Rodeo Theater was built on the site.

The Moore Theater showed a lot of World War II movies and later began to show risqué movies which could not be shown on TV, such as “Liane, Jungle Goddess” and “And God Created Woman” starring Brigitte Bardot. There were also live stage shows at the Moore Theater which featured Siamese twins, babies in bottle and other ‘freaks’, as they were billed in those less PC times.
