Open in 1996, the screen is 6-story’s high and 8-story’s wide. It can show 3D, and has wrap-around digital sound. It was closed in March 2020.

Exterior of the IMAX Theater: View link
Chuck, the VAMS theater is inside the museum, so it was never a seperate commercial theater, although it does show the latest IMAX movies.
The Virginia Marine Science Museum (and its IMAX theatre are NOT part of Dam Neck Naval Base. It’s on its own lot in Virginia Beach, totally separate from any military base, and accessible to all.
This location no longer has an IMAX theater. The last time we received showtimes was in March 2020:
