Located in the small Somerset seaside town of Burnham-on-Sea. The Electric Theatre was opened at Easter 1912. The arched entrance was flanked by three shops, which brought in extra revenue. All seating was on a single level.
In June 1930, it was taken over by W. Trueman Dicken who owned a small chain of West Country cinemas, and was re-named Majestic Picture House. Morrisons sound equipment was installed, later changed to a B.T.H. (British Thomas-Houston) system.
The Majestic Picture House was closed around 1953, having never been equipped to screen CinemaScope films. It was taken over by Woolworths Ltd., to become their store in the town. By the 1970’s it was a Fairsave store. In recent years, the original facade has been removed, and the building is now Burnham Shopping Centre.

Oddly, the Kinematograph Year Book for 1914 has no mention of this cinema (nor any in Burnham on Sea).
KYB 1932 lists it but with no specifics about the building. KYB 1942 and KYB 1947 list 650 seats and 400 seats, respectively.
W Trueman Dicken had the monopoly in the town, being the owners of the Ritz, too.
