Located on Seldon Street, close to the corner of Leeds Road, Nelson, Lancashire. The New Cinema opened 23rd August 1913. By January 1922 it had been re-named Cinema House. It was remodelled and reopened as the Tivoli Theatre on 2nd August 1926 as a cinema and variety theatre. Seating was provided in stalls and circle levels. The proscenium was 30 feet wide and the stage 25 feet deep. There were three dressing rooms.
On 2nd May 1932, it was re-named Capitol Cinema. In 1950 it was re-named New Capitol Cinema and was closed on 3rd April 1955.
By 2008, the building in use as a M.O.T. testing centre and car repair shop.

It opened as the NEW CINEMA on 23 August 1913; by January 1922 had been renamed CINEMA HOUSE, which closed for alterations 3 July 1926 and reopened on 2 August 1926 as the TIVOLI THEATRE. Management changed early in 1932 and the cinema closed for further alterations and to upgrade the sound from Cinephone to Western Electric. It reopened on 2 May 1932, which is probably when the name changed to CAPITOL. In 1950 NEW CAPITOL was a trading name. The last show was on 3 April 1955.
