Luxor Kino

This cinema was opened in 1934 by converting an old warehouse into a movie house. During the years it became one of the most popular cinemas in Karlovac beacuse of its specific atmosphere and well chosen movie titles.

The repertoire consisted of westerns and gangster movies and later there were comedies, action movies, children movies and different artistic films from Europe and America.

Long-standing operators and leaders of this cinema were Josip Adlesic (until the 1960’s) and Juraj Katusin, who was the Luxor’s last operator when the Luxor Kino closed in 1993.
