WALMART!!! UGH!
Sometimes I feel like standing in a walmart parking lot and screaming “why” at the top of my lungs.
They did the same thing in 2007 when they closed the Starlite Drive-In & Flea Market in Durham and turned it into a parking lot for a Wal-Mart Super Center and Auto……I know how you feel Kris….“why”
A 1983 aerial view shows that the theater appears to be still operating meaning that it was still open in the mid-1980s, but was already gone by the early-1990s as a 1993 aerial view shows the traces and booth but no screen.
The Walmart opened at the site in 1997 as a replacement of their previous location on 1231 North Brightleaf that had been operating since August 31, 1989.
