Located in the West Bowling district of Bradford on Birch Lane at the junction with Gaythorne Road. The Birch Lane Cinema was opened on 19th November 1914. It was a plain building, with an entrance jutting out from the main body of the building. All seating was on a single level, and the auditorium ceiling had a barrel-vaulted ceiling. The proscenium was 18 feet wide.
The Birch Lane Cinema was closed on 26th September 1959 with Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis in “Hollywood or Bust”. After a period laying unused, it was re-opened in 1962 as the Silver Birch Bingo Club.
By 2003, it was in use as a snooker club, and a video games arcade, known as Game On. In 2011, the building was ‘For Sale’ with the occupants being a snooker club and a bathroom showroom. It was demolished in 2013.

The opening was on the 19th (not 18th) November 1914. It had been postponed from the 12th. (My sources are the Bioscope of 26th November and The Bradford Weekly Telegraph of 20th November.)
