Located in the small town of Portland in the beautiful Blue Mountains region to the northwest of Sydney. The Crystal Theatre was opened in 1927. In 1952 it was operated by J.W. Gleeson.
When seen in February 2004, films were still being screened on the second Saturday of each month.
